Lakeland Academy
Guiding Students to Their Full Potential

ADMISSIONS

We welcome your interest in admitting your child to Lakeland Academy.  We look forward to helping you determine the best path for your child’s academic future.

The following information can be accessed either via the website or by direct request to the school. If you prefer to have the information sent to you, please contact us at 972/636-3777 or lakeland.office@gmail.com and we will send you a packet.

ADMISSIONS POLICIES

Age
Children attending first grade should be six years old on or before August 1st.

General Requirements

Students should show a desire to learn, be able to function in the daily school routine, and demonstrate respect for authority and peers.

Students should demonstrate interests outside of school such as clubs, the arts, or athletics.  Students with special needs will be evaluated on an individual case-by-case basis. No student will be admitted with needs outside the expertise of our faculty and staff.

Parents are required to read, agree, sign and support Lakeland’s commitment, volunteer, and teaching philosophies.

Initial student placement is determined by entrance testing, teacher recommendation forms, and previous school history. The Montessori philosophy supports student progression at their own pace but encourages a minimum level of accomplishment to maintain the current grade level.
